Dasuni Thisera

Dasuni Thisera represents Ratnapura, a city known across Sri Lanka for its gemstones, and at 24 she's built a career that blends teaching with entrepreneurship. She holds an English Teacher Training Diploma from SDTI Campus and is currently completing a Bachelor of Arts in English at Saegis Campus, continuing to build her academic credentials even while working full time.

That work has taken a few different forms. Dasuni has served as an international school teacher and an art teacher, and alongside that she runs her own art and craft business, giving her a rare combination of classroom experience and hands-on creative entrepreneurship.

She's also taken part in professional photoshoots, experience that has sharpened her presentation and comfort in front of a camera ahead of her pageant debut. Her advocacy centers on women's empowerment: she believes every woman deserves the confidence to follow her dreams and build an independent life, and she hopes to use her platform to encourage exactly that in the young women she teaches.

"Believe in yourself, work hard, and never stop chasing your dreams," she says, a motto that reads like it comes directly from years spent encouraging students to do the same.
