W Shanoli Yolanda Fernando

W. Shanoli Yolanda Fernando represents Ja-Ela in the Western Province, and at 19 she's already carrying home titles from some of Sri Lanka's most competitive youth pageants. She's currently studying Fashion Designing at AMDT University, a natural fit for someone whose eye for style has already been recognized on stage more than once.

Her pageant record speaks for itself: 2nd Runner-Up at Miss Earth, along with the Miss Earth Best Smile title and Best Imagine Model honors at an AND fashion show. Each of those results has sharpened her presence and given her a clearer sense of what she wants her platform to stand for as she takes on bigger stages.

For Shanoli, that platform is education. She's passionate about ensuring equal access to education for everyone, believing it's the single most powerful tool for improving lives and building a better future. Having grown up watching how much of a difference access, or the lack of it, can make, she wants to use her visibility to keep that conversation in front of people who can act on it.

She keeps her outlook simple and direct: "Believe in yourself and keep going." It's advice she's clearly already been living by, one title at a time.
